Daylilies In L.A.

SCHAS has been around for over 50 years and generally meets every third Saturday of the month; exceptions are April, June (Daylily Show), July, August and December. The meetings are held at the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanical Garden, 301 N. Baldwin Avenue, Arcadia, CA -in the Palm Room. Meetings begin at 9:30 am with socializing, and those who arrive prior to 10:00 receive a raffle ticket for a special door prize. Newcomers additionally receive a special gift. At the meeting, there is a speaker session, refreshment break, show and tell where members bring in and discuss unusual and beautiful garden plants, a mini auction -some of the proceeds benefit SCHAS and the Arboretum; and finally, a raffle of garden items brought in by its members -seedlings, cuttings, offsets of bulbs, etc. This club is diverse, and topics include all types of plants and bulbs. Visitors are always welcome. Should you decide to become a member, the annual dues are a bargain price of $10 per calendar year. Come and see what this fun club is all about!
